Middlesboro, also spelled Middlesborough, is in Bell County, Kentucky. Middlesboro is the largest city in Southeast Kentucky. The city became incorporated in 1890. Middlesboro was named after the town Middlesborough on the south bank of the River Tees in what was then known as the North Riding of Yorkshire, England.
The city is located on the Kentucky side of Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. Pine Mountain State Resort Park is also located in Bell County. Geologists believe that the Middlesboro basin between Pine Mountain and Cumberland Mountains are the remains of an ancient meteorite crater, which gives the town the rare distinction of being one of the only cities in the world built completely inside a crater.
Middlesboro Country Club, founded in 1889, is the oldest continuously played golf course in the country.
Middlesboro was given the nickname, "The Magic City" in the 1950s for its large support of the arts. Middlesboro has been known to have the finest schools and opera house in the state. The first shopping mall was built in the city sometime during the 1960s. The 1970s, was a prosperous time as the coal industry began to boom. The city prepared for the future by opening the Cumberland Gap Tunnel along roadway 25E, in 1996.
Home Federal Bank was founded in Middlesboro in 1920. The current Home Federal Bank location was built in 1980. We are committed to being your home town bank and providing you with the service you expect and deserve. We are involved in our community and dedicated to helping you achieve your goals.

Harlan County was formed in 1819. The name originated from Silas Harlan. Harlan, a pioneer, was born in West Virginia and later journeyed to Kentucky with James Harrod in 1774.
Harlan has been documented in films, television, and music. Some of the popular ones include the film Harlan County, USA. The FX television series Justified is based on an Elmore Leonard story and takes place in and around Harlan County. Harlan is also the subject of the Darrell Scott song, "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive", which was covered by Brad Paisley and Patti Loveless.
The town of Harlan is the county seat; however there are multiple cities within Harlan County. These incorporated cities include; Benham, Cumberland, Evarts, Loyall, Lynch, and Wallins Creek. As the railroad industry began to flourish in the 1880's, a need arose for a railroad line to be built from Tennessee into Kentucky through the Cumberland Gap. A railroad depot was erected in New Tazewell, Tennessee. Businesses and houses were constructed near the railroad as many goods and services were continuously shipped by rail.
Though New Tazewell's manufacturing industry is a cornerstone of the community, the tourism industry is also gaining popularity in the region. Claiborne County is home to Norris Lake. Norris Lake provides a pristine experience for all water lovers with over 800 miles of shoreline. The lake's shoreline is home to beautiful lake front properties located in Sunset Bay, Rock Harbor and Overlook Bay. Norris Lake has become the prime location for lake front vacation homes for those who love the serenity of the great outdoors.

Jacksboro, Tennessee was founded in 1808 as a permanent county seat for Campbell County.
Since its founding, Jacksboro experienced steady growth which was briefly interrupted by the Civil War. In 1936, the completion of Norris Dam on Campbell County's southern border changed the course of Campbell County forever. While many communities were flooded and farms lost, a beautiful lake with over eight hundred miles of shoreline was created.
Today Norris Lake is a major tourist attraction for Campbell County with many modern resorts and fine homes located near the lake. Due to the creation of Norris Lake, tourism became a major industry and remains so today. Many lake resorts include Deerfield Resort and The Springs Dock.
Modern Campbell County offers superb roads such as I-75, abundant inexpensive electricity, modern schools, two state-of-the-art hospitals, and low taxes coupled with unspoiled mountain wilderness and plentiful miles of pristine shoreline. Campbell County is home to LaFollette, Caryville, Jellico and the county seat is Jacksboro.
Home Federal Bank opened its Jacksboro, Tennessee branch in 2003. We are committed to contributing to our community by supporting local businesses, schools, and charities. By building these relationships, we believe that we give you the personal service that you can depend on. Harrogate is located in Claiborne County, Tennessee, on the Tennessee side of the Cumberland Mountains, within the Cumberland Gap Historic National Park.
Reverend A. A. Myers, a Congregationalist minister, came to the Cumberland Gap in 1888. He succeeded in opening the Harrow School, established for the purpose of providing elementary education to mountain youngsters. On a visit to the area to give a series of lectures at the Harrow School, General O. O. Howard remembered his commitment to fulfill Lincoln's request and he joined Reverend Myers, M. F. Overton, C. F. Eager, A. B. Kesterson, and M. Arthur in establishing Lincoln Memorial University. That group, along with Robert F. Patterson, a Confederate veteran, became a board of directors and purchased The Four Seasons property. In commemoration of Lincoln's birthday, the institution was chartered by the State of Tennessee on February 12, 1897, as Lincoln Memorial University.
In August 2010, Home Federal Bank opened its newest branch in Harrogate, TN located across the street from Lincoln Memorial University's DCOM building. We hope that you will visit Home Federal Bank whether you are looking to open a checking account, need a loan to buy your first home, or need investment advice from our Investment Professionals.
