Certificates of Deposit (CDs)

A higher rate of interest can be earned on Home Federal Bank certificate of deposit (CD) accounts.  This is an excellent tool for managing your funds when you are able to set money aside for a specified period of time.  We offer a variety and some with a minimum investment of $2500.

Our certificate of deposit accounts are set up to renew automatically at the current rate unless the account holder decides to redeem or transfer. Standard terms range from 91 days to 5 years. In the event of early withdrawals, an interest penalty may be assessed.

Easy Access Account

This account gives you the benefit of a certificate of deposit rate with the access feature of a savings account. After an initial deposit of $2,500 (minimum opening balance) you can deposit up to $100,000 in your account at anytime. You can also withdraw from your account with no penalty after only eight (8) days from opening the account. The account will renew automatically at maturity at the current rate of interest.

Educational CD Account

Home Federal Bank can help you with your child's college education with our Education CD Account. You can open an Education Account with a minimum opening deposit of $500, and then add to it at any time with deposits of $50 or more. The Education CD Account is designed as a 5 year variable rate certificate of deposit. However, if your child is ready to enter college in less than the five year term, funds may be withdrawn without a penalty at the time needed. Your child's education is of the utmost importance...so plan and prepare for it now.
